As an artist I am fussy when it comes to the products I use. This year I have painted several Murals (and our house), using primarily Haymes Paint as it is a pleasure to work with. The colours are great and the paint has a nice thick consistency, (I am not being paid to say this I promise!) (Not yet anyway!).
Anyhow, when Haymes got in touch with me recently, to see if I could do something to contribute to their series of christmas themed blog posts, I immediately had some great ideas for murals come to mind. Then, admittedly, the little issue of time crept up, and I realised I needed something, quick, easy and requiring a minimum of fuss.
A trip to the op shop (local folks the Argyle still has a stack of these tins), and a pile of biscuits tins at fifty cents a pop gave me all the inspiration I needed. The following is a basic pictorial run down;
I will admit a quick trip to Aldi provided the goods for my little styled shoot, which my small daughter happily helped with, (gold coins, yes please).http://www.haymespaint.com.au/style-your-christmas/painted-christmas-gifts/
You can see the full tutorial here on the Haymes website.
I hope this inspires you to do some daggy/not so daggy diy this christmas! (I have since baked some “real” cookies etc to fill the tins!)
Merry Christmas Everyone.. May it be full of serenity..
